CARES is the organization of government officials responsible for enforcement of amusement ride and recreational equipment regulations. CARES maintains information pertaining to the safety of amusement rides as a public service for use by regulatory officials, industry, and consumers.

- WK60549 Standard Practice for Design, Manufacture, Installation, Operation, Maintenance, Inspection and Major Modification of Trampoline Courts is a work item revision to existing standard F2970-15
- F2291 Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices has been revised to F2291-17
- F3099 Standard Practices for Parasailing has been revised to F3099-17
According to Joe Filoromo, who supervises the Ride Safety Division of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, one of the most common causes of ride incidents is rider error.
Much of this rider error should be prevented by well-trained ride operators but we do several things to try and educate the public about ride safety as well, which is a proven deterrent.
